Pro Dives' training centre is located in the city of Cairns and features all the modern facilities need to learn to dive. Pro Dive also boast Cairns deepest dive pool. At 4.5 metres in the middle students get and excellent idea of what pressure feels like under water.

The first two days are spent learning the theory and underwater skills of diving.

The next 3 days are spent living on board one of our premium purpose built vessels. Your first 4 dives will complete your open water certification and then as certified diver you are able to undertake up to 5 more pleasure dives. This includes a night dive! These dives will be exciting and truly memorable. The night of your return to Cairns, join the crew and fellow passengers for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 1 - Academic and Pool Training

DAY 3 - Diving the Outer Great Barrier Reef

DAY 4 - More Great Diving

06:30 Third Training Dive before Breakfast. This will be the deepest training dive for your certification
10:30 The last Training Dive for your PADI Open Water Certification Course. Now You are a Certified Diver!!!
14:30 Your first pleasure dive as a certified diver
19:00 A guided night dive after dinner. Another great experience!

DAY 5 - More Diving and Return to Cairns

Flying After Diving: We recommend that you do not fly until at least midday the day after your dive trip returns. This will give you 24 hours of surface interval after diving.

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.

Dive Medicals

PADI Open Water 'Learn to Dive': You will need to fill in the PADI medical statement form and also undergo a compulsory medical assessment to Australian Standards AS 4005-1. Pro Dive can organise this compulsory dive medical for you. The cost is $49.50 and this is payable directly to the doctor. Australian Standards are different to those in other countries and a medical obtained in another country will most likely NOT be valid in Australia.
PADI Advanced or PADI Rescue Diver: You are required to fill in the PADI medical Statement. If you answer yes to any of the questions on this form you will be required to then undergo a medical assessment to Australian Standards AS 4005 -1.
PADI Dive Master: You are required to fill in the PADI medical statement and also undertake a compulsory medical assessment. If you are intending to work in the scuba diving industry you will undergo an AS 2299 medical and if you are NOT intending to work in the industry you will undergo AS 4005-1 medical.
Certified Divers And Snorkellers: If you intend travelling on board Pro Dive's 3 day 2 night liveaboard you will be asked to complete in writing a Pro Dive Cairns "Waiver Release and Indemnity Deed" form. You will be asked "Are you currently suffering from any illness or injury that may be incompatible with diving?" If you answer yes to this question you will then need to obtain a release from your doctor saying that you are fit to dive (this medical release does NOT have to be in accordance with AS 4005-1).
